Reviews
This place was a great lunch. The wings were amazing. The maple bbq has just the best flavor a bit more tang than the average honey bbq out there. The cuban panini was pretty good if a bit dry i could imagine it needing just a bit more seasoning or punch somehow. The servers were amazing and the restaurant was beautiful. Great atmosphere.
I had been wanting to try this place for the past two years. Finally, I tried it two weeks ago, and my wife and I were not disappointed. We had the Old Bay seasoned wings as an appetizer, and they were excellent.
For our main dishes, I had the Prime Rib pannini sandwich with Aus Jous gravy, and my wife had the Bleu cheese salad with steak. Both dishes were very good.
The Prime Rib was tender and not overcooked.
The food was so good, we went back a week later. The second time, we tried the cream of crab soup for appetizers. Amazingly delicious.! For the main course, I had the reuben sandwich, and my wife had the fish and chips . Both were very good. The fish consisted of two huge pieces of haddock. Unfortunately, the French fries were served under the fish and therefore made the fries oily and soggy.
Service was very fast and friendly.
The dining room is spacious and very clean. Prices are reasonable.
We will be regularly going back.
There is also a bar/ pub behind the dining room for those looking for a stiffer drink.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
We stopped here for dinner as my husband had heard it was very good food. It was 1/2 price burger night which he took advantage of and said it was delicious. Fresh burger patty not frozen. I had the homemade chicken pot pie. Holy moly was that so good! Highly recommend 🤩
They started to seat us in the pub but it was noisy and we wanted the quieter atmosphere of the dining room. They happily moved us and provided upturned high chair that held the babies carrying seat, and a booster for the toddler. We had a lovely lunch mostly sandwiches of huge proportions and plenty to take home. Food is really good and reliably so. We've enjoyed their take out quite a few times as well. Always a safe bet if you're in the area and need reliably good meals.
Burger was burnt, crab cake sandwich was barely warm and taste was bland n needed more seasoning, crab pretzel over cooked as well. I'll go back and try a different time. Heard good reviews on radio, decided to try for my anniversary.
We recently held my sister’s baby shower in a private room at the restaurant. The staff was so accommodating, had the room set up beautifully, allowed us to bring in and set up decor early. The food was great, reasonably priced and the service was top notch!!
Everywhere I go, I search for a proper set of Fish and Chips. Who would have known that it was in Greencastle Pennsylvania? The John Allison Public House is easy to access and has good parking. There is also a separate bar area if you're not bringing the kids.
My maple BBQ wings were amazing, FOH manager Miranda was extremely kind and attentive and served me herself. I love the atmosphere, and all in all A+ from me. They are the best bar & grill in Greencastle PA.
